Legal notice

1. Service operator

UI is a website and account service operated under the EDBN name. If UI later launches its planned interface catalog, it may also provide editorial reference material, EDBN-authored code examples, previews, search, API access, or MCP access. A feature is not available merely because this notice anticipates the legal process it will require.

Formal notices concerning the Service or its operator may be sent to legal@edbn.me. Privacy, rights, security, and abuse reports should use the address in the relevant section below and clearly identify the purpose of the request so it can be classified promptly.

2. Independent service; no affiliation

UI is independent from a product or company it may document unless a listing expressly says otherwise. A product name, screenshot, recording, source link, or observed interaction may be used to identify or discuss that product. It does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, certification, or approval by the rights holder.

“Inspired by,” “reference,” “observed in,” attribution, and a no-affiliation statement do not grant permission or make an otherwise infringing use lawful. A code example may be described as EDBN-authored or independently implemented only after its provenance and review record support that claim.

3. What UI owns

Subject to third-party rights described below, EDBN owns or licenses the original Service software, UI brand, editorial writing, taxonomy, metadata selection, evaluation methods, arrangement, and compilation. Access does not transfer ownership. The Terms of Use, an item-specific license, and third-party notices define what may be copied, modified, or distributed. UI does not claim ownership of another product's marks, media, code, or other protected material.

4. Reference Material

A future catalog may display a limited excerpt of a screenshot, recording, product name, interface detail, or source link so that a pattern can be identified and discussed in context. The default is the smallest useful excerpt, accompanied by source and editorial context, with personal data and unnecessary proprietary copy removed. Third-party copyrights, trademarks, design rights, database rights, trade dress, patent rights, and other rights remain with their owners.

Third-party reference media is excluded from source downloads, API or MCP responses, and reusable assets by default. It may be delivered on one of those surfaces only when the item manifest and adjacent notice record an express license for that specific surface. UI does not provide a high-resolution media archive that substitutes for the source product. Legality depends on the material, purpose, amount, market effect, jurisdiction, license, and other facts; research or commentary is not an automatic exception.

5. Code provenance and license labels

Before publication, each pattern version must identify its author, original observed source, capture date and access level, framework, dependencies and assets, version, content hash, review status, permitted distribution surfaces, and applicable licenses. An example with a distinctive appearance, unusual or non-routine interaction, or another patent-risk flag must also retain the design and patent search evidence required by the publication policy. Unknown or disputed provenance, ownership, asset status, or license blocks publication rather than lowering an item's ranking.

An independent implementation must be written from permitted observations, public standards and documentation, licensed material, ordinary engineering knowledge, and a review brief that excludes distinctive expression. It must use UI's own visual system, synthetic fixtures, and cleared assets—not copied DOM, CSS, JavaScript, source maps, private APIs, leaked code, customer data, or extracted assets. Accessing a public page does not authorize circumvention, automated copying, or breach of source-site restrictions.

The license shown beside Example Code governs that code. Dependency, asset, font, icon, image, dataset, and package licenses remain separate and must follow every framework conversion and machine response. If a label appears wrong or incomplete, report the exact pattern and version to copyright@edbn.me. We may restrict download or publication while the provenance is checked.

Each public listing must identify the observed source and capture date, state whether the preview and code are EDBN-authored or separately licensed, clarify that they are not the observed product's proprietary source code, show the applicable code license, and disclose whether any reference media is licensed for reuse or machine delivery.

6. Trademarks, designs, and patents

A third-party plain word mark may be used only when reasonably needed to identify the observed product. A logo is avoided when the name is enough and must not appear in generated code, package names, favicons, default fixtures, or downloadable assets unless separately licensed. Do not use a reference or Example Code to suggest affiliation, confuse users about origin, impersonate a brand, or imitate a protected overall presentation.

Independent code can still implicate trade dress, registered designs, design patents, or utility patents. UI does not claim that observing a product or rewriting its code provides freedom to operate. Examples with distinctive appearance, high visual fidelity, unusual or non-routine interaction behavior, or another patent-risk flag require specific review, recorded searches of relevant design and patent registries, and may require permission or item-specific counsel clearance. A rights holder may report a misleading, excessive, or infringing use through the rights address with the registration or basis, country, exact URL and version, and explanation of the claim.

7. Copyright and other rights reports

Send a report to copyright@edbn.me. UI handles report details as described in the Privacy Policy. For a copyright complaint, include:

• your full name, organization, mailing address, phone, and email;
• identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if one report covers several works;
• the exact UI URL, pattern identifier, version, file, or other detail that lets UI locate the material;
• a statement that you have a good-faith belief the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or law;
• a statement that the report is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right involved; and
• your physical or electronic signature.

For a trademark, trade dress, design, patent, database, privacy, or other claim, identify the right and country, registration or evidence where available, the exact material and version, the claimed harm, your authority, and the remedy requested. Do not use a copyright notice to make a different kind of claim.

The address above is a general rights intake. It is not a representation that EDBN has registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office. If EDBN elects to operate a statutory DMCA process, this notice will first publish the designated agent's legal name, physical street address, telephone number, email, and registration status. The designation must be kept current and renewed before its Copyright Office registration period expires. The DMCA safe-harbor process does not determine whether material selected and published by EDBN itself is lawful.

8. Review and action

UI checks whether a report identifies a right, the reporter's authority, the affected material, the relevant license or legal basis, and an action UI can take. UI may ask for missing information or temporarily restrict a file, download, preview, search result, API or MCP response while the report is reviewed.

Depending on the facts, UI may correct attribution, add context, crop or redact reference media, replace an asset, disable distribution, restrict a region, or remove the material. A validated restriction will follow the affected content hash through catalog records, published variants, source archives, previews, media and CDN objects, search, embeddings, retrieval indexes, generation caches, API and MCP responses, and downstream cache tombstones. A restricted evidentiary copy may be retained where lawful for a dispute, audit, or legal hold.

UI may share the substance of a report and the contact information required by the relevant process with the contributor or opposing party. A knowing material misrepresentation may expose the sender to liability. A report is not accepted on its merits merely because an automated acknowledgment was sent.

If UI removes or disables user-directed material under a statutory DMCA process, UI will take reasonable steps to notify the affected subscriber promptly and explain how to submit a counter-notice.

9. Responses and counter-reports

If your material was restricted and you believe the decision was wrong, reply to the notice or write to the rights address. Identify the material and former location, explain the basis for restoration, provide reliable contact details and supporting evidence, and sign the response. UI may forward it to the reporter and may keep material unavailable while the matter is reviewed.

If a registered U.S. DMCA process later applies, a counter-notice must contain your physical or electronic signature; identify the removed material and its former location; state under penalty of perjury your good-faith belief that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification; provide your name, address, and telephone number; consent to the federal district court for the district in which your address is located, or, if you are outside the United States, a district in which the service provider may be found; and accept service of process from the original claimant or its agent.

UI will promptly forward a valid statutory counter-notice to the claimant and tell the claimant that UI intends to restore the material after 10 business days, subject to the statutory window below. Where the U.S. DMCA requires restoration, material will be restored no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after UI receives the valid counter-notice unless the designated agent receives notice that the claimant filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity. UI may still decline restoration for an independent privacy, security, provenance, quality, or Terms violation.

10. Repeat and serious infringement

Before relying on a U.S. DMCA limitation, UI will adopt, reasonably implement, and inform subscribers and account holders of a policy that provides for termination of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. UI will accommodate and not interfere with applicable standard technical measures. Decisions consider valid reports, counter-notices, retractions, final outcomes, severity, deliberate evasion, and linked submissions. An invalid, withdrawn, or successfully countered report is not automatically treated as established infringement. A single serious and deliberate violation may justify immediate action.

11. Corrections and reference requests

An affected product team, designer, developer, or other person may ask UI to correct attribution, update a source link, correct a factual statement, replace an asset, redact personal information, or review a reference. Include the exact URL, requested change, reason, and evidence. Each request is reviewed on its facts; it does not guarantee removal of accurate, lawful editorial or archival material.

12. Personal information in references

Public references and fixtures must not expose real customer records, private account details, credentials, or unnecessary personal data. Report an issue to privacy@edbn.me. Include the URL and the minimum information needed to locate it. UI may blur, replace, redact, or remove the material while preserving non-identifying editorial context and any restricted evidence required to document the decision.

13. Machine-assisted content

If machine-assisted features are offered, UI may use automated systems to retrieve, rank, evaluate, summarize, critique, or adapt eligible catalog material. A result will carry the available source, version, license, and provenance context. It is not a determination that the output is original, non-infringing, accurate, or licensed for every use.

Rights, provenance, privacy, and entitlement rules must be enforced before ranking; a score cannot override them. Requests for an exact clone, brand impersonation, or an indistinguishable replica may be refused. Missing, incorrect, or misleading provenance can be reported through the rights address.

14. Responsible security disclosure

Report a suspected vulnerability privately to security@edbn.me. Include the affected URL or component, prerequisites, reproduction steps, expected impact, and evidence that can be shared safely.

Test only accounts and data you own or are expressly authorized to use. Stop after confirming the issue. Do not exfiltrate data, access another user’s content, maintain persistence, use social engineering, degrade availability, attack a third-party service, publish an unresolved vulnerability, or demand payment as a condition of disclosure.

We will make a reasonable effort to acknowledge credible reports, investigate them, and communicate material progress. This is not a bug bounty, promise of payment, or authorization to violate law or a third party’s terms. Request written authorization before testing if the permitted boundary is unclear.

15. Abuse and unlawful use

Report phishing, malware, credential theft, impersonation, unauthorized access, unlawful content, dangerous preview code, or systematic misuse to abuse@edbn.me. Provide the relevant URL, account or artifact identifier, a concise explanation, timestamps, and supporting evidence. Do not send secret values or personal information that is unrelated to the report.

16. Content restrictions and appeals

UI may restrict material or access to protect rights, safety, privacy, security, provenance, or Service integrity; comply with legal process; or enforce the Terms. Where appropriate, a notice will identify the action and a way to respond. Appeals should explain the error, identify the affected material, and include new or missing evidence.

17. External services and links

UI may link to products, repositories, app stores, packages, documentation, or other services. EDBN does not control their content, security, availability, license, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. Your use of an external service is governed by that provider’s terms.

18. Electronic notices

Account, policy, rights, security, and legal communications may be delivered through the Service or to the email associated with your account. Keep that address current. A formal notice to EDBN should use the purpose-specific address above and copy legal@edbn.me. Receipt of an automated acknowledgment does not mean a report has been accepted on its merits.

19. Relationship to other terms

This notice explains reporting procedures and ownership context. It does not replace the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, an item-specific license, or a signed customer agreement. The more specific document controls if two provisions address the same issue and conflict.
